Painter and Sculptor
Dave Aris is a painter and sculptor hailing from Gabriola Island on the west coast of British Columbia. With works around the globe, his favourite subject matter is still close to home. Subjects range from beautiful west coast skies and beaches to detailed wild life and flowers. He works with a variety of mediums, predominantly acrylics and water colour. He also enjoys exploring the use of stone and wood to capture his subjects in the earthly elements. Over the years, Dave has mentored many young, now successful artists, some with international acclaim.

ABOUT DAVE ARIS
Dave Aris lives on beautiful Gabriola Island off the coast of Vancouver Island, a 20 minute ferry ride from Nanaimo. Â He has spent most of his life painting and teaching art. His first formal eduction was at the University of Calgary and he went on to complete his teaching degree at at the University of Lethbridge. Â He spent 30 years teaching art throughout Vancouver Island. Â
Dave's inspiration comes from the natural beauty around him. Â
When he is not in the studio he can be found riding his bike, tending his garden or spending time with his loved ones.
Art is a combination of discipline and aesthetic curiosity.
